Introduction to the Kirk Library

Library Support

Whether you are on or off campus, you can get library support anytime. Don't struggle alone! Seek help when you need it.

In Person Support

The Reference Desk

When on campus, the reference desk is the place to go to ask all of your library questions. The desk is staffed by faculty librarians who are eager to help. Don't hesitate to approach the desk with your questions. If the reference desk is not being staffed when you visit, just ask for a librarian at the circulation desk. They will call a librarian out to help you.

  • HINT: Even if the librarian looks busy, they are only occupying their time between student questions. They are at the reference desk specifically to help students!

An Appointment with a Librarian

You can also schedule an appointment to meet with a librarian. To book an appointment, visit our subject librarians page, and click on "Schedule an Appointment." Library appointments can be in the library or by video conference. You can choose which option works best for you.

Virtual Support

LibGuides

LibGuides are web tutorials that provide guidance about how to best use library resources, including tips on how to start your research and shortcuts to the best research tools available for a particular subject. LibGuides are often tailored to a specific class. In fact, this module is a LibGuide specifically built for this course. Our collection of LibGuides can be found here.

24/7 Chat

Chat with a librarian anytime, day or night with our 24/7 chat service. This service is staffed by Centralia College faculty librarians during business hours. After business hours, librarians from across the country and globe are available to help you.

Email

Email the library with a question at librarian@centralia.edu. When you email the library, all library staff are notified, so the person best equipped to answer your question will promptly get back to you.

Contact the library by phone at phone number, 360-623-8956.
